Michel Slama, MD, PhD

Head of Medical Intensive Care and head of DRIME department in University Hospital of Amiens, France and member of the research unit INSERM 1088, University of Amiens Picardie. As a cardiologist and an intensivist, he is the past medical director of the University Hospital of Amiens and the Vice Chancellor of the Picardie University. He is member of many societies (SRLF, ESICM…) and fellow of ACCP-CHEST and AHA. He created with others the European Diploma on echocardiography (EDEC).
His main research topics are invasive hemodynamics and echocardiography in ICU as well as ARDS. He published more than 150 original articles, more than 20 book chapters, more than 300 original abstracts, and he edited many books. He was invited for more than 300 conferences over the word. He created with JL Vincent the international course on echocardiography in Brussels.
He spent a year as invited Professor in the Oschner Medical Foundation in New Orleans and a year in the Nepean Hospital in Sydney. He was awarded by the French Ministry of Education“Palmes Académiques”.
