Dr. Wang is the Professor of Surgery of the State University of New York, Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, USA. Prof. Wang received his PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from Christian Albrechts Universität zu Kiel (University of Kiel), Germany in 1994. Dr. Wang was as an Associate Professor of Cell and Molecular Biology at the Department of Pediatrics in 2007, the Pennsyvania State University College of Medicine and Department of Surgery in the SUNY Upstate Medical University and was promoted to be Professor.

His major research areas include cell and molecular biology of pulmonary surfactant proteins (SP-A, SP-B and SP-D), gene expression, regulation and biological functions, and the roles in the pathogenesis of acute and chronic lung injury, acute kidney injury and pancreatitis, as well as sepsis (ARDS) using in vitro cell models and humanized transgenic mouse models. His research works have been supporting by NIH and NSF grants.

Prof. Wang owns the memberships of many professional societies such as American Association for Advancement of Science, The America Physiological Society and The American Thoracic Society. Up to now, He has received more than 16 research grants and has published 88 peer-reviewed papers, 5 reviews and chapters, as well as 78 abstracts.
