Dr. Qian Chen, MD, is a staff anesthesiologist at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He received his medical degree from Zhejiang University School of Medicine with highest honors in 1986. He was selected to do a one year internship at the Peking Union Medical College Hospital, the most well-known hospital in China. He was thenprivileged to continue his surgical residency training at PUMC hospital. During his residency and graduate school study, his research work on GI hormones was awarded the State Scientific and Technological Achievement award. In 1993 Dr. Chen was invited to Brown University & Rhode Island Hospital as a post-doctor fellow for further research training. His research work on gallbladder muscle hypo motility associated with cholesterol stones and gallstone formation was continuously funded by NIH and published in multiple peer–reviewed journals. After several years of outstanding research, Dr. Chen went back to clinical medicine in the U.S. and finished his anesthesia residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2002. He started private practice in anesthesia in Wisconsin and has been practicing anesthesia for over 15 years. Dr. Chen has a diverse background, both from research and clinical perspectives. He has unique expertise and experience in airway management, hemodynamic monitoring and acute post-op pain management. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiologist. He was rated and selected as one of America’s top anesthesiologists by the Consumers’ Research Council of America.
