He has been appointed as the guest editor for the Canadian respiratory journal to make a special issue on respiratory failure and ventilator support. His major research interests include critical care nephrology, hemodynamics and meta-analysis, delirium in ICU, and outcome study for critically ill patients. He is currently working on the secondary analysis of electronic health records and data mining. There are many unknown things lurking behind medical big data, and medical decision-making based on pragmatic data can help to solve issues that cannot be addressed by conventional RCTs and other prospective clinical studies. He is sophisticated in using software R and Stata for data management, data visualization and statistical analysis.
