The Adjunctive Corticosteroid Treatment in Critically Ill Patients with Septic Shock (ADRENAL) trial failed to show a mortality benefit while the Activated Protein C and Corticosteroids for Human Septic Shock (APROCCHSS) trial showed a significant reduction in 90-day mortality.
